This beautiful, 4-year-old kitty with big eyes is Bruce Wayne. After being involved in an accident when he was a kitten, this sweet boy only has three legs – he’s missing his front right leg – but he doesn’t let that stop him from getting around. Once he warms up to you, he’ll follow you around the house until you’re ready for his favorite activity … cuddling!

Bruce Wayne is great with other cats, but hasn’t had much experience meeting dogs. He has spent his entire life as an indoor cat and would like to keep it that way! Since he has a sensitive stomach, keeping his diet consistent has helped him to live a perfectly normal life.

This lovable guy has been an amazing companion, but his current owner will soon be moving and is unable to take him along. Can you give Bruce Wayne the great family and loving home he deserves?

Summer Safety Tips for Your Pets Summer is the perfect time of year to experience the outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather, but the heat can take a serious toll on your four-legged companion. Animal Friends has a few tips to help you beat the heat and keep your pets safe, healthy and cool during the warm months ahead. Visit your veterinarian. A checkup for your pet is in order this time of year. In the warmer months, your companion is at a high risk of contracting parasites, fleas and ticks, which can cause much bigger problems down the road. Preventative treatments are much easier (and less expensive!) than an emergency visit to the vet. Practice parking lot and vehicle safety. When the weather starts heating up, protect those paws from the hot asphalt and pavement by walking on grassy areas whenever possible. Animal Friends' Volunteer Friends and Family Day

On Sun., Aug. 16 Animal Friends will welcome their volunteers to bring friends and family to the shelter for a special day highlighting the many achievements of Animal Friends volunteers. Animal Friends became a certifying organization that was given the authority to recognize and present the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Animal Friends wanted to tremendously honor these lifetime achievers. By providing Presidential recognition to these 80 volunteers Animal Friends is hoping that their volunteers truly understand how much they mean to the organization. From 2:30-3:30 p.m. 80 of Animal Friends volunteers will be awarded the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteer service. This select group of volunteers will be recognized for giving more than 4,000 lifetime hours of service to Animal Friends.
